New Pangaea Project Vehicle

Following in the footsteps of Pangaea Expeditions Bio Bonatti project, we’ve aquired a new vehicle, but with a twist – its a (gasp!) Jeep. More specifically, the new truck is a 2005 Jeep Liberty Diesel (CRD).

This truck is reprensentative of a brief time (2005-2006) when DaimlerChrysler tested out the marketability of selling diesel motors in North America.

Although sales of the CRD were discontinued after 2006, ironically due to not meeting stricter emissions standards, the Liberty CRD was capable right of the showroom floor of running biofuels up to 100% Biodiesel (B100). Pangaea Expedition’s goal with this vehicle is to create an achievable biofuel powered daily driver, which can be used for occasional forays into the backcountry.
