Indian Peaks Wilderness
Photos by Nathan Hindman
This summer, we stepped away from our 4x4s for a backpacking trip into the Indian Peaks Wilderness area on the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park. The trail was relatively short at about 3.5 miles each way, but it’s steep elevation gain (2,700 feet) made for a challenging trip with packs loaded with camping and photography gear. Note: Permit required for camping in the Indian Peaks Wilderness.
