| Description |
At 13,188 feet,
Mosquito Pass is the highest continuous road
in North America. This pass once served as the
main link between the mining town of Leadville
and Denver. This steep trail is not for the
acrophobic, but the breathtaking views from
the top of the pass are hard to beat.
The high altitude may make both
vehicles and people run a bit rough, so exercise
caution. The pass is snow covered for most of
the year, and its only passable by vehicle in
the late summer and early fall. |
