Land Rover Defenders travel across the Makgadikgadi Salt Pan in Botswana

It’s no secret that we at Pangaea Expeditions are big Land Rover fans. Despite some of their shortcomings, Land Rovers remain one of the classic overland vehicle choices. But. enthusiasm for this this quirky English vehicle brand is something that’s often hard to quantify or express to many people. However, we recently stumbled across this great video from Top Gear that goes a long way towards articulating the appeal and sense of history of the Land Rover marquee.

For those that have never seen it, Top Gear is an automotive show on the BBC which features a combination of car reviews, performance tests and absurd automotive stunts (ie going to ridiculous lengths to “kill” a famously reliable Toyota Hi-Lux). Production values on this show are top notch and episodes are always entertaining for almost any automotive enthusiast.
